Venison America has searched the world over for the best Elk Products and has determined that in addition to the local domestic Elk supply, which is limited, our “Down Under” neighbors in New Zealand have some of the most consistent products available. New Zealand Elk, this is real elk and not red deer, is grass fed and free range. This stands to reason as New Zealand has an abundance of grazing land that is naturally replenished by the rich soil and frequent rains.

New Zealand Elk is shipped throughout the world which makes it a major export for the country. As such, it is tightly controlled by the New Zealand government to insure healthy humane treatment of the animals, safe and sanitary processing and consistent meat quality in the important areas of size, flavor and tenderness. Because of the high volume of exports, government subsidies and abundance of inexpensive grazing lands, the price for New Zealand Elk is often less than that for the domestic varieties. At Venison America you get a choice of either Domestic or NZ elk.
